Natural nausea relief

In capsules and gum

Friends, fans, redheads
We’re flying the flag against nausea, and, as of right now, that flag is coloured ginger. Look no further, friend. Why? Because ginger means business.
  • Ginger means Queen Elizabeth I – the first queen of England.
  • Ginger means Ron frickin’ Weasley.

Ginger also means the perfect excuse for a serendipitous Sea-Band challenge – but we’ll get back to that piece of fun further down this article…

In the meantime, let’s turn to ginger the plant – and now you’re really talking our language. This radical root has been used to ward off nausea for thousands of years. The Ancient Chinese loved it. The Romans envied it so much they nabbed it from India – then they made half a gram cost as much as a whole dang sheep.

Baaargain.

Ginger is packed with sexy amounts of antioxidants. In clinical studies it’s been proven effective at treating forms of nausea, increasing digestive responses and helping your stomach calm down when it’s getting all uptight and I-Want-To-Puke-y.

It’s safe, it’s natural, and it also tastes blooming delicious.

Seriously. What’s not to like?
Call us biased, if you want to – after all, we have our own travel-friendly selection of Anti-Nausea Ginger products that we’re pretty keen on shouting about, including Anti-Nausea Ginger Capsules (available to buy in the UK) and Anti-Nausea Ginger Gum (in the US only). We don’t mind the accusation though. You can always get your ginger hit elsewhere. Why not try the pure root on its own for a taste of its natural powers – especially if you feel the symptoms of motion sickness, or other nausea events, such as those related to vertigo, chemotherapy, and pregnancy.

Thinking of dipping your toe in some golden water? (To clarify, we mean golden water like ginger juice, not the other kind of golden water, thank you very much. Ahem.) Read on for our top tips for getting a natural anti-nausea boost from the ginger root:

  • Chew a small piece of peeled ginger root before or during your next road trip, or ferry crossing
  • Stew a thumb-sized shredded section of the root in hot water, and pour into a vacuum flask to drink it hot throughout the day, or through a journey
  • Preserve fresh roots for longer by freezing them in an airtight bag, and grating the root from frozen for your next dose
  • Or juice the root, and freeze the zingy results into ice cube trays
  • JUST REMEMBER: if you’re suffering from post-op problems or pregnancy complications, be sure to consult with your doctor in the first instance
