SEA-BAND HEROES
Kathy Hanley stepped on the cruise ship in Cape Canaveral to embark on a 7-day vacation at sea with her husband and immediately wanted to get off to the vessel.
“We hadn’t even left the dock and I was so sick. I didn’t care how much the trip cost, I was getting off the ship,” she said.
A crew member spotted Kathy and brought her to the infirmary. There she bought her first Sea-Band.
“I put it on my wrist and in 10 minutes the nausea was completely gone. I felt fine. I wore it the entire trip and told everyone on board they should be wearing a Sea-Band,” said Kathy. “It was amazing.”
Kathy continues to wear Sea-Bands to relieve her upset stomach. Only now, it’s not so she can enjoy a vacation.
Kathy is battling Cancer. In fact, she has battled Cancer SEVEN times since being diagnosed with lung Cancer in 2013. She has been through countless radiation and chemotherapy treatments, most of which leave her weak and nauseous.
Through it all, she credits Sea-Band for helping her get through the toughest side effects.
“When I was first diagnosed in 2013, I had to keep working, I would literally put my head down at my desk I felt so sick,” she said. “Then I put on a Sea-Band. I immediately felt better. It is a miracle.”
She shares her love for Sea-Band everywhere she goes and often gives them as gifts to those she encounters in the hospital while undergoing her own chemotherapy treatments.
“Sea -Band has helped me so much. I want to be able to share it with others who are suffering,” said Kathy. “My dear friend suffers from Vertigo. It was debilitating. He now wears Sea-Band now and he feels so much better.”
Despite battling Cancer on and off for more than five years, Kathy remains positive and active. She credits Sea-Band as a key to her ability to live an active lifestyle. A former office manager for 40 years, she now takes care of uncle who suffers from Alzheimer’s, walks several miles a day and cares for her husband and their four dogs.
“I worked since I was 10 years old,” said Kathy. “I’m 66. I am just starting to live.”
Kathy’s message is clear and simple.
“Sea-Band saved my life,” she said. “I want everyone who suffers from nausea to know about Sea-Band so they can get the find the same relief I have been able to find.”
